Paid RI Instructor trains Volunteer RI Instructor

In term 2 Merril Clarke (one of our Paid RI instructors) trained Mel Sutton (a volunteer) to start as an RI Instructor for the first time. Mel completed the ACRE (Alliance of Christian Religious Education) Christian RI Foundations training modules and then observed Merril's lessons. They then met together to prepare, had email correspondence, phone calls and Mel stepped into delivering more and more of the class each week with Merril by her side giving feedback until she was confident to take the class on her own. I then had the privilege of coaching and evaluating her lessons to sign her off. Mel continued to send me her lesson plans and just shined. A big thank you to Merril and her training of Mel and to Mel for her time, energy and love that she is going to shine to these students to help them question, explore and discover Jesus.
